KUCHING: A visiting diplomatic delegation took time out today to get up close and personal with all that nature has to offer in Sarawak. And they were left in awe.

The Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Lee Chi Boem, and his compatriots visited the Semenggoh Wildlife Nature Reserve to see for themselves the orangutans there.

He was accompanied by Head of Biodiversity Conservation and Research Division Dr Melvin Gumal and Semenggoh Nature Reserve, Park Warden Asraff Julaihi Khan.

During the visit, the group encountered the grand old lady of Semenggoh, Seduku, as they were at the feeding observation platform, and were stumped by Seduku’s presence.

Out came their phones to take selfies with the ape.

Apart from that, they also saw a giant alpha-male orangutan, Anuar, coming to the feeding platform towards the end of their visit to the reserve.

After their visit to the wildlife nature reserve, the ambassador and his delegates made a stop at the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre to see for themselves some of the unique plants and natural resources.
