KUCHING: Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has described Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How leaving Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) as possibly due to his unhappiness with the party.

“He would not do it (leave the party) unless he sees something in the party that is against his principle and political struggle,” said the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice-president.

“Knowing See, he is a man of principle.

“The best person to answer why he is leaving PSB is See himself,” Abdul Karim said.

He added that following See’s resignation, it was therefore See’s prerogative to be where he wants to be.

Abdul Karim was prompted for comments on the three-term Batu Lintang incumbent’s resignation from PSB.

In the 12th Sarawak Election, See defended his seat after securing a total of 4,420 votes.

He defeated Sih Hua Tong of GPS, who polled 4,327 votes; Cherishe Ng Phuay Hui of PKR, who won 1,823; Voon Lee Shan of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK), who won 1,570; and Leong Shaow Tung of Parti Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak (Aspirasi), who only won 187 votes.
