When the night befalls you
Know that the light of the stars
Will be there to guide you;
And the brilliance of dawn
Will tend to follow
Whenever pain visits you
Know that relief is
It’s close opposite;
And it is, not that very far behind,
Like a faithful servant, very close by
When joy walks into your path
Know that
any intervening unhappiness;
Will only sweeten the relief
Heightening the joy
And when frustration
Vexes your calm and composure
Know that it is there for one reason;
To remind you of gratitude
To always be thankful
When the greedy and the unjust
Seem to triumph, or be victorious
Know that their tests are onerous;
Be thankful, that you are spared
From such trials displayed
