KUCHING: The Selangau Waterfront is expected to be completed by the middle of next year, says Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang.
He said the project was at 30 percent completion and going smoothly after its resumption following the movement control order (MCO) earlier this year.
In a Facebook post last Thursday, Gira added that the Selangau Waterfront would allow folks to fully enjoy the scenery along the Batang Mukah river.
“The people of Selangau has waited a long time to conduct recreational activities along the Batang Mukah river – all this will be realised when the project is fully completed.”
The Tamin assemblyman also urged folks to cooperate with the implementing agency so that the project could be completed without a hitch and according to schedule.
In a separate post, Gira said there was a slew of infrastructure projects implemented in the Tamin constituency under the Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC).
“These are such as the upgrading of roads leading to Rh Jeram Siong Tengah, Sibu; Rh Umpeng, Batu 22, Jalan Sibu Selangau and Jalan Rh Belayong, Ng Kalai, Ulu Mukah Selangau.
“I thank the SRDC for channelling funds to help develop the infrastructure in the Tamin constituency. My appreciation to the council chairman, councillors and council staff.”
