MIRI: In five years’ time, open spaces at residential areas within the Senadin constituency will be developed into mini recreational parks, said Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

In highlighting this, the Senadin assemblyman said that under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) last year, six mini recreational parks have been set up within his constituency.

“There are more to come for my RTPs this year; we have listed down about nine (RTPs) to develop any open space at residential areas within my constituency,” he said.

Lee said this when met on Monday (March 15) after carrying out site visits to three RTPs in Promin Jaya in Senadin.

On the project to develop open spaces into mini recreational parks, Lee also mentioned that it would include village areas.

Earlier on, Lee visited three mini recreational parks that have been completed at Desa Senadin 2D (estimated cost at RM100,000), Promin Jaya 2 (RM50,000) and Jalan Maigold 3 (RM50,000).

“We emphasise this because we want to encourage and provide opportunities for the community within these residential areas to exercise more and practise a healthy lifestyle,” he said.
