KOTA SAMARAHAN: Serba Dinamik Holdings Berhad (SDHB) inked four memoranda of understanding (MOU) with strategic partners during the launching of D-Virtual Park, Jalan Meranek here, on Monday (Oct 12).
This was witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and SDHB chairman Datuk Abdul Kadier Sahib.
The first agreement was between SDHB, represented by its senior vice-president (Information Technology and Education and Training) Dr Mohamed Ackiel Mohamed with Sarawak Digital Economic Corporation (SDEC) and Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs), represented by their chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani.
This collaboration will see both parties work on the new digital innovation hub under Sarawak’s Digital Economy.
Next was the agreement with Sarawak E-Sports Association (Sesa) represented by its president Afiq Fadhli Narawi.
The collaboration was to promote digital adoption among future talents in the e-sports industry, which will allow utilisation of Sesa Mini Esports Hub located at D-Arena in Serba Digital Innovation studio here for the development of creative, animation and games (VR/AR) in the e-sports industry.
The third MOU was between Serba Dinamik IT Solutions, represented by its operations department general manager Abdul Qaiyum Alidin with Sarawak Women and Family Department, represented by its director Noriah Ahmad.
This collaboration is to ensure gender inclusivity among the women community, especially in adapting digitalisation via existing Serba Dinamik Digital Innovation Studio.
Qaiyum who is also the founder of StartUp Borneo Malaysia, also represented the organisation for the fourth MOU with Women Rise Malaysia, represented by Kedung Ballang Kapong.
This collaboration aimed to promote as well as empower digital inclusivity for women in technology and enterprises in Sarawak. The Women Rise Malaysia is a movement headed by Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Fransisca Luhong James.
“These collaborations are important not only because they open a new frontier for our technology ventures, but they also bring technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) to a wider base,” according to SDHB group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah.
“This includes reaching out to women and showing them what these technologies can do for them. We hope to empower them with these technologies as we believe these are important tools for the digital age that we live in.”
In attendance were Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Assistant Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus; Deputy State Secretary (Performance and Service Delivery Transformation) Datuk Dr Sabariah Putit, Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang, Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang, Kota Samarahan Resident Ibrahim Lumpu and Kota Samarahan Municipal Council chairman Datuk Peter Minos.
