Serian Christmas parade makes comeback after two-year absence

SERIAN: The Serian Christmas Parade 2022 was joyfully celebrated after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the statement by UKAS, the organisation of the parade this year was led by St Theresa Catholic Church Serian with the theme, ‘the King has been Born’.

The officiating ceremony of the parade was completed by Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus accompanied by Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin at Serian Community Park last Sunday (Dec 11).

The churches involved were Serian Catholic Church (head organiser), Serian Anglican Church, Serian Seventh Day Adventist Church, Serian Methodist Church, Serian Good News Fellowship Church, Serian Borneo Evangelical Mission Church and Serian Full Gospel Sarawak Church.

Meanwhile, the agencies involved were Serian Division Resident Office, Serian District Council, Serian Royal Malaysian Police, Serian District Office, Serian Health Office, Serian Public Works Department, Serian JBALB, and Serian RELA.

For the record, the first Serian Christmas parade which was held in 2014 was first introduced by Rev Fr Paul Herry, rector of the Catholic Church of St Theresa Serian.
