Serian Class 3 health clinic completion in 2022

KUCHING:The construction of the Class 3 health clinic in Serian is expected to be completed by June 9, 2022, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

He said that the project was implemented in phases and had commenced on June 10 this year with an estimated construction period of two years.

“This Class 3 health clinic project in Serian was approved by the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department to be implemented under the 10th Malaysia Plan 2015.

“This project is implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak in phases,” he said in response to a question from Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 4).

According to Dr Adham, the first phase involving ground works started on Dec 1, 2016 and was completed on July 20, 2017.

He said that the second phase involving building works was tendered on Sept 14 last year with closing of tender on Oct 7 last year.

“The letter of acceptance was issued on March 3 this year.”

He said that the Health Ministry, JKR Sarawak, and other government agencies would work closely to ensure the project was carried out smoothly, adding that it was the ministry’s aspiration for the project to be completed according to the set time, cost, and standard.

Meanwhile, in response to Riot’s request for two more similar clinics in Tebedu and Bunan Gega, Dr Adham said that his ministry had discussed the construction of a replacement health clinic in Tebedu first under the 12th Malaysia Plan.
