KUCHING: The Santubong Parliament Service Centre donated seven cows and five goats for korban rituals in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha on Friday and today.

On Friday, five cows and five goats were slaughtered, which were donations from Santubong Parliament Service Centre as well as from residents around Taman Sepakat Jaya.

Santubong MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar officiated at the distribution of sacrificial meat to the residents.

“From a social point of view, the wisdom of sacrificial worship is translated through the distribution of sacrificial meat that covers the entire strata of society whether poor or rich. This can foster the spirit of unity and solidarity among Muslims.

“The secretariat of the sacrificial council are complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by state authorities in curbing the spread of Covid-19,” he said in a Facebook post.

Yesterday the service centre donated two cows for the korban ritual in Surau Darul Takwa, Kampung Bintawa Hulu.
