MIRI: Seven individuals were arrested during a four-hour Ops Mabuk carried out by Miri Traffic police on Saturday night along the Jalan Miri -Bintulu.
Those individuals, aged 25 to 68, were arrested under Section 45A of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
During the operation which started at 11 pm, the police also issued 79 summonses for various traffic offences.
According to Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, during the operation, around 95 vehicles were inspected.
“These summonses were issued for various traffic offences,” he said in a statement yesterday.
