LIMBANG: The people here can now heave a sigh of relief after the Federal government presented seven vehicles which will be used as hearses to transport bodies from Miri to Limbang and vice versa.

According to Member of Parliament for Limbang, Haji Hasbi Habibollah, of the seven vehicles two were donated by individuals.

The vehicles to be used as hearses under the People’s Friendly Programme are worth RM400,000.

“This facility will ease the burden of the people who needed to pay up to RM3,000 to bring the remains of their loved ones from Miri to Limbang.

“We are grateful with the five vehicles (hearses) provided by the Federal government and two donated by individuals. Now residents in Limbang no longer have to spend thousands of ringgit to bring back the remains of their loved ones from Miri to here,” Hasbi said at the handing over of one of the vehicles (hearses) to St Michael Church, Medamit here, yesterday.
