MIRI: Several roads here will be closed for the Miri City Car-Free Day on May 25, from 5.30 am to 11 am.
According to a press release from the Miri City Council (MCC), the affected roads are Jalan North Yu Seng, Jalan Merpati, half of Jalan Persekutuan, Jalan Kipas, Jalan Sylvia, and Jalan Parry.
The MCC advised vehicle owners to plan ahead and consider alternative routes due to the half-day road closures.
“Apart from stationing traffic wardens, appropriate traffic diversion road signs will be put up at the site to facilitate the car owners of making road diversion.
“Parking will be limited due to the high volume of visitors. The following parking options will be available: Jalan Ansellia car park, Jalan Zinnia car park, Jalan Calliandra car park, Jalan Helenium car park, and Jalan Unus car park,” it said.
A series of activities, including Zumba, a fun walk, fun games, and lucky draws, will be organised throughout the day.
“Come join us for Car-Free Day and be part of a global effort to reduce traffic and improve air quality by taking greener trips,” it added.
