LIMBANG: The Sungai Limbang Bridge and waterfront projects are currently about 55 to 60 per cent complete.
Federal Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said the new schedule for the completion of the bridge is by November 2025.
“Therefore, I hope everything will go smoothly and I understand that the construction materials are already on-site for this project, but perhaps the weather conditions may slightly affect its implementation,” said Hasbi during a visit to the Sungai Limbang bridge Phase 2 and Sungai Limbang waterfront Phase 3 project site recently.
Hasbi, who is also Limbang MP said the bridge would further facilitate access to Limbang, in addition to using the Brunei Darussalam bridge in Teluk Brunei.
On the Sungai Limbang waterfront project, Hasbi said the contractor anticipates its completion before the Gawai Dayak celebration next year.
“We hope all three phases will be completed simultaneously, including Phase 1 which collapsed in front of Restauran Musbee.
“I was informed (Phase 1) will start next year and will be implemented by the Public Works Department (PWD),” he said.
He added that the development of the Phase 3 of the project was 67 per cent with an allocation of RM26 million.
