Shamsul and Yayuk grab titles

KUCHING: Indonesia’s Shamsul Sahri was the champion of the Kuching  Traditional Archery Open Competition at Bukit Siol, Kuching South City hall (DBKU) here on the weekend.

He defeated nine other
participants to amass 182 points and win RM500, a trophy and a certificate. His challenger was Wan Salman who trailed by only two points to bring home a cash prize of RM300, a trophy and a certificate.

Finishing third was Sharif with 179 points. He received RM100 along with a trophy and certificate.

The fourth to tenth winners each received a gold medal and a
certificate.

In the women’s category, Yayuk Sakinah emerged as the champion with 178 points and received RM500 plus trophy and certificate.

Second and third were Fritiani and Dewi who received RM300 and RM100 with trophies and certificates respectively. Zailani and Fitti won the last man standing and last woman standing categories
respectively while Indonesia’s Mas Kareem won the fastest archer event. The best men’s and women’s attire category was won by Zailani and Nor Ashikin respectively.
