PUTRAJAYA: Ladies who like to show their patriotism and love for the country can now do it in style by donning the limited edition Merdeka headscarves, introduced by an online boutique, El Zahraa.

In conjunction with the National Day celebration on Aug 31, the boutique has come up with four designs (limited edition) of headscarves featuring four colours of the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) – blue,
yellow, red and white.

They are aptly called Hibiscus with Water Colour Splash; Malaysiaku Tanah Airku; the Colours of Malaysia and the Lights of KL City; with only 50 pieces of each design available for purchase.

Chief executive officer of Alyssa Holdings Sdn Bhd, owner of El Zahraa online boutique, Emma Kasmima Khairudin said it was the first time the boutique had introduced the limited edition headscarves in conjunction with National Day celebration and they were available online via the El Zahraa Facebook page since Aug 1.

The satin scarf, measuring 48-inch by 48-inch, is priced at RM79 each, and buyers will only need to pay RM100 if they purchase two pieces.

“Currently, more than 90 percent of the limited edition headscarves are sold and we don’t have any plan to produce more, despite the demand. This is to ensure the exclusivity of all El Zahraa’s designs,” Emma Kasmima told Bernama.

Among interesting features included in the designs are the red and white stripes (of the Jalur Gemilang) done in abstract and creative ways on Malaysiaku Tanah Airku version while the crescent and star are prominently displayed on the Colours of Malaysia’s design.

Meanwhile, the Lights of KL City features Kuala Lumpur’s iconic buildings such as the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower.

Due to encouraging response, El Zahraa was planning to introduce the Malaysia Day limited edition
headscarves on Aug 31, to feature totally different designs.
