KUCHING: The showcase of Sapa Juara Chart Award (ACSJ) on Wednesday night (Nov 4) was aimed at alleviating the longing of fans who could not watch the annual entertainment event due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Selected finalists who have competed in the finals from the first to the sixth season were called back to perform to on stage or provide behind-the-scenes footage.

Prior to the event in Kuching, the first ACSJ was held in Sibu on Oct 18, followed by Miri on Oct 30.

ACSJ was introduced in 2014 and was formerly known as the Anugerah Juara Lagu Terbilang Iban (AJLTI) from 2004 to 2008 before being rebranded in 2014.

The programme aimed to highlight the involvement of singers, songwriters and lyricists so that ACSJ can be used as a benchmark in the Dayak music industry, especially Iban songs.

ACSJ also has the potential to elevate the Iban music industry globally as well as the recognition of the most popular Iban songs in the Sapa Juara Chart.
