SIBU: A storeroom in a commercial building at Jalan Wong Soon Kai here was destroyed by fire last night.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 10.30 pm blaze.
Sibu central fire station chief Suna Kaha said his men and firemen from Sungai Merah station were deployed to the scene to put out the fire.
By the time the firemen reached the site, the storeroom was engulfed in flames.
“The fire was brought under control at 11.44 pm and the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the other rooms,” he said.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are yet to be ascertained.
