Sibu Jaya Bomba station gets 12 new auxiliary firefighters

SIBU: Eleven men and a woman received their accreditation as auxiliary firefighters on Wednesday (Aug 25), having completed a course that began on Aug 15. 

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sibu chief Janggan Muling said the group would begin their duties at the Sibu Jaya Bomba station on Sept 1.

“With the new recruits, the operations of the Sibu Jaya Bomba station can be optimised for more effective fire and rescue services, particularly in the Sibu Jaya area.”

The training course provided the recruits an insight on basic firefighting and rescue methods as well as management skills.

Caesar Bantin Barau emerged as the best trainee while Aziz Kushairi picked up the best practical trainee. The best theoretical trainee was Mohd Ashraf Akmal Geriem.

A ceremony was held at the Sibu Jaya Bomba station, officiated at by Janggan, who represented Sarawak Bomba director Khirudin Drahman.
