SIBU: The Sibu Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) has decided to allow the Sibu Night Market to operate from tonight (Apr 22), Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh said today (Apr 21).

Earlier, Ting had attended a meeting on the conditional movement control order (CMCO) with enhanced standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Sibu, Selangau and Kanowit districts at the Sibu Resident’s Office.

Ting added that the Sibu Central Market is also allowed to operate starting this Saturday (Apr 24).

“Hawkers or traders are only allowed to sell necessities and food. Anything other than that is not permitted,” he said, adding that the Sibu Night Market will be operating from 5pm to 8pm only.

Ting stressed that all SOPs must be strictly adhered to by both traders and customers.
