KUCHING: A team of nine Sikh bikers from the Santana Riderz Malaysia Club has embarked on a charitable expedition in Borneo to raise funds for underprivileged children and the local community.

Santana Riderz’s Datuk Seri Daljit Singh Dalliwal said that this was the Santana bikers’ first visit to this destination.

“During this trip, we have visited eight temples and engaged with the local communities.

“The primary objective of the trip was to raise awareness of the importance of education and to provide support to children pursuing university studies.

“The Malayan Sikhs Education Aid Fund (MSEAF), in partnership with the Santana Riderz, has pledged to provide interest-free education loans until the completion of their studies,” he said.

He made these statements during a press conference at the Lepau Restaurant on Tuesday (July 11).

Dalliwal further emphasised Santana’s close involvement with the local community, including welfare initiatives, education, temple projects, and youth camps.

He described Santana as a community service organisation that embraces a leisurely lifestyle.

“We are encouraging the youth to prioritise education while pursuing their aspirations and reminding them of the importance of success in life,” he said.

Additionally, Pertubuhan Pembangunan Insan Sarawak (PPIS) donated RM1000 to the MSEAF to support their community-focused endeavors.

The PPIS president, Manjeet Sidhu, was also present during the charity programme.
