KUCHING: Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian yesterday paid tribute to the late SUPP veteran Tan Sri Law Hieng Ding, describing him as a loyal and dedicated politician.

“We have lost a great Sarawakian who did so much for Sarawak while in the cabinet as well as a very loyal and dedicated SUPP member and a very close family friend of my parents,” said the SUPP president.

He was commenting on the veteran politician who died at 5am on Christmas Day. According to Sim, even when Law had difficulty expressing himself because of his deteriorating  health, he  was still very concerned about SUPP. He met  Law in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year when he was there for Lan Berambeh 2018.

The Local Government and Housing Minister said he regretted he was unable to fulfil Law’s wish of having a road named after him.

“I am sad that I am unable to complete a mission for Tan Sri while he was alive  to have a road named in his honour in Sarikei in recognition of his services as Sarikei MP,” added Sim.
