Simanggang residents conduct cleanliness activity

SIMANGGANG: Housing residents here gathered for a ‘gotong-royong’ (communal work) organised by the Munggu Sabun Chinese Community Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) recently.

Joining them was Assistant Community Wellbeing Minister and Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

The programme aimed to create awareness among residents the importance of good hygiene and keeping their surroundings clean to prevent diseases.

Among the agencies involved were Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department, Sarawak Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID) and Sri Aman District Council (MDSA).

The agencies also explained their roles and listened to the issues raised by the residents, particularly relating to water supply and drainage.

Also present were Sri Aman District officer Mohd Ashree Wee, MDSA chairman Anthony Abell Chendan and Sri Aman DID assistant engineer Fedilis Ann Dizer.
