SERIAN: Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom led a working visit to Mayang Breeding & Fattening Farm (MFBF) here last Thursday.

Dr Rundi, who is also the Board of Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA) chairman, was informed that MFBF has successfully produced 861 out of 3278 cattle in Sarawak.

He also informed that MFBF has created 62 jobs and involved 10 community farmers, targeting a self-sufficiency level of 25 per cent.

“This initiative contributes to the state government’s goal of making Sarawak a clean food exporter by increasing self-sufficiency in beef production,” he said during the visit.

Earlier, Dr Rundi also visited the Serian Palm Oil Mill (SEPOM) and received a briefing from the manager of SEPOM, Clement Joseph, regarding the production process of fibre mat and its uses.
