Malaysian pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has great news for her fans. The No. 1 singer is set to release a new album soon.

The 44-year-old songstress said she had recorded seven new songs for the album, including “Menjaga Cintamu”, the theme song of the coming biopic “Anwar, The Untold Story” and “Sehebat Matahari” which she sang at the recent “Konsert Satu Suara Volume 3” which also featured Ernie Zakri and Jay Jay.

“I recorded these songs during Ramadan. Another five are on the way, and I’ll be back in the recording studio soon,” she said.

Siti revealed that the new album would feature compositions by several new composers and lyricists, as well as Indonesian star Melly Goeslaw, who was her fellow Inspirer (co-principal) in Akademi Fantasia Season 10 a decade ago.

“For this album, my songs will be delivered in a fresher and more contemporary style. Recording sessions feel like going back to vocal classes, but it is indeed fun.”

Meanwhile, Siti had also changed her plans regarding her scheduled solo concert, which was supposed to be held this year.

“I felt like fans had already spent a lot to buy tickets for the previous ‘Konsert Satu Suara Volume 3’, so it might be troubling to have them buy tickets for my solo concert again this year.

“Plus, I’m currently in the process of recording new songs. So it would be perfect for me to hold my concert next year and use the concert to promote my new album.

“The concert will serve as the live introduction of the 12 new songs.”

Siti added that with the extra time on her hands, her team could plan a better show and come up with more ideas to make the concert more entertaining and give fans something that they will never forget.
