Six Covid-19 fatalities, including 27-yr-old the youngest

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded six new Covid-19 fatalities today (June 1), bringing the state’s death toll to 300.

The youngest among the six fatalities is a 27-year-old local woman (300th death and Case 46,629), who received treatment in a private hospital in Sibu after experiencing cough and breathing difficulties.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the case was later referred to Sibu Hospital for further treatment after she was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 29.

Her health condition deteriorated and she passed away on May 31. The case had asthma.

The 295th death was Case 48,032, a 65-year-old local man who was treated in Bintulu Hospital for experiencing fever, cough, lack of appetite and breathing difficulties for three days.

He was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 10 and passed away on May 28. He had high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease.

The 296th death was Case 47,190, a 77-year-old man who was brought to Mukah Hospital after family members found him unconscious.

“According to his medical history, the case had experienced fever, cough and difficulty breathing a few days ago. He was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 30 and passed away on the same day.

“He had suffered from hypertension and heart disease. This death is categorised as brought-in dead (BID),” the committee said.

The 297th death was Case 41,596, a 72-year-old local man who admitted to Sibu Hospital for breathing difficulties.

The case began experiencing fever, cough, lack of appetite and breathing difficulties three days ago.

He was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 21 and passed away on May 31. The case had high blood pressure.

“The 298th death was Case 37,464, a 66-year-old local man who was admitted to Serian Hospital after he was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 10.

“The case who was involved in the Tebakang Cluster, was later referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.

“He passed away on May 31. He had high blood pressure, kidney disease and dyslipidaemia,” SDMC said.

The 299th death was Case 46,674, a 72-year-old local man who was admitted to SGH after experiencing chest pain for two days.

He was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 30 and passed away the next day (May 31).

The case had high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidaemia.
