Six held for drugs

PADAWAN: A total of six individuals, including three women, were been arrested in a raid on Sept 17.

Padawan district deputy police chief DSP Merbin Lisa said the three men are aged between 29 and 44 years, and the female suspects are aged between 18 and 29 years — all locals.

He revealed the arrests were made at 8pm when police from the Padawan Narcotics Crime Investigation Department led by Inspector Mohd Hafiz Zainudin raided a house at Batu 10, Jalan Kuching-Serian near here.

The drugs weighing 61.70g with an estimated value of RM8,540 found in the house were seized. All suspects tested positive for drugs.

Merbin said the case would be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15 (1) (A) 1952 of the same act.

“Two of the suspects have previous records under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and 15 (1) (A) of the same act, while three of the suspects have past records under Section 15 (1) (A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.”

He also called on the people to channel drug-related information to the police.
