The operation, codenamed Op Samseng Jalanan, was carried out by 19 personnel from the contingent and the district’s traffic police at Jalan Awang Ramli Amit, Dataran Sibu.

Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, in a statement today (March 25), said that all six riders were being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“Among them are not having a driving licence, no number plates, no side mirrors, no road tax, expired road tax, broken brake lights, and modified exhaust systems,” he said.

In the meantime, Zulkipli urged everyone to obey traffic laws and reminded parents to keep an eye on their children and make sure they always follow the traffic rules.
