Six ICC teams make Sarawak proud

The six teams that received the highest Par Excellence Award at the 46th International Convention Quality Control Circle (ICQCC) 2021

KUCHING: Six innovation and creative circles (ICCs) from state agencies have once again made a glorious history at the international level.

According to a statement on Saunday (Nov 28), the teams received the highest Par Excellence Award at the 46th International Convention Quality Control Circle (ICQCC) 2021.

It added that although the 46th ICQCC 2021 was supposed to be held at Hyderabad in India, it was held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Hence, the teams presented their innovation projects to the world level panel of judges via online platform at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) last Nov 25,” it said.

These teams namely Land Tahai Q from Sarawak Land and Survey Department; Do It 5 from Sarawak Treasury Department; Revenue Squad from Sarawak Treasury Department; Flares from Sarawak Forestry Department; Probe from Kuching North City Hall; and Vision 6 from Sarikei District Council had competed against 96 countries around the globe.

“There were 496 ICC teams competing worldwide where Malaysia was represented by 81 teams from 50 organisations and involved 566 participants.

“For the record, Sarawak civil service has always achieved outstanding success since its consistent participation in ICQCC from 2011 until now without fail. As a result, this year, Sarawak had the most entries and received the highest numbers of PAR Excellence Award.

“This success reflects the culture of innovation that has become the foundation for civil servants in providing excellent service delivery to the people,” it added.
