KUCHING: A 37-year old woman was ordered to maintain a six-month peace bond by the Magistrates Court for slapping her friend at a nightclub.

Chin Choon Lian pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) which was read before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.

Based on the facts of the case, on May 13, at around 3.30 am, the 27-year old victim from Penang was having fun in a nightclub and was suddenly approached by Chin who then slapped her.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered swelling on her left cheek and received treatment at a hospital.

A police report was made by the victim for further action and investigation against the accused.

Result from the investigation revealed that the cause of the incident was due to Chin’s dissatisfaction because her 27-year-old girlfriend badmouthed her.
