Six out of 10 fatalities brought in dead

KUCHING: Ten fatalities due to Covid-19 were reported in Sarawak on Saturday (Sept 18).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said a 29-year-old woman from the Pusa district, who was obese and tested positive on Sept 5, passed away at the Betong Hospital.

Other Covid-19 deaths involved a 73-year-old woman from the Pusa district and a 55-year-old woman from the Betong district;  both passed away at the Sarikei Hospital. Both had high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.

Another person who succumbed to Covid-19 was a 82-year-old woman from the Sibu district. The women, who had high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease, tested positive on Sept 16 and passed away at the Sibu Hospital.

The committee revealed that six other deaths were brought in dead (BID) cases at the Betong Hospital.

The SDMC said the first BID involved a 79-year-old man from the Betong district. He tested positive on Sept 6 and had no known medical history.

Another BID was  a 54-year-old man  from the Pusa district who tested positive on Sept 7. He had high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.

The third BID was a  67-year-old woman from the Pusa district who tested positive on Sept 12. She had high blood pressure.

Meanwhile, the fourth BID involved a 62-year-old woman from the Pusa district who tested also positive on Sept 12. She had high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems.

The fifth BID was a 49-year-old woman, also from the Pusa district. She tested positive on Sept 13 and had high blood pressure and diabetes.

The  sixth BID was a 77-year-old man from the Betong district who tested positive on Sept 14. He had high blood pressure.
