Six wayward high-powered motorbikes seized

SIBU: Traffic police here confiscated six high-powered motorcycles due to its exhaust modifications in an operation codenamed ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ recently.

All of the motorcycles were confiscated under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 and taken to Sibu Traffic Police Station for further actions.

Through a statement, police said the operation was carried out at Jalan Bujang Suntong (Dataran Sibu) and Jalan Awang Ramli Amit from 9.30pm last night until 1am.

Throughout the operation, a total of 12 traffic summonses were issued for various offences such as exhaust modifications, no driving licence, plate number not following the rules and not wearing a helmet.

The public are advised not to perform any dangerous actions on the road, which can endanger their own lives and the lives of others.

Any information related to street thug activities, can be channelled to the police to curb such activity.
