SK Mukah to compete in Robotic Olympics in Malacca

MUKAH:  Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Mukah will compete in the International Robotic Olympics Malaysia 2019 in Malacca which is scheduled to be held from Oct 30 to Nov 1.

The venue is Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Yok Bin’s multipurpose hall.

SK Mukah headmaster Burhanuddin Kaderi said Year 6 pupils, namely Eisya Nur Zahira Omar, Elvince Evand Ubak Tony Gibson, Christiano Varo Kassie Edmond and Year 5 pupils Nurul Aqilah Shahirah Norshahril and Mohamad Zafran Aqil Mohamad Zulhaimy will represent the school.

Burhanuddin, Mohd Na’imullah Mohd Iskandar Jong and Cianra Drahman will accompany the
team known as SK Mukah Augmented Robotics Team (SMART).

Based on information sent by him through WhatsApp yesterday, SK Mukah and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Chung Hua (CF), Miri are the only two schools from Sarawak to take part in the competition.

Of the total 62 teams (primary and secondary schools), most are from Malacca, and the rest from Johore, Kelantan, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Putrajaya, Selangor, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur and Perak.

The competition is being organised by SJKC Yok Bin in collaboration with Malacca Education Department, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

SK Mukah has performed well so far this year. The school emerged champion and first runner-up in the state-level Petrosains RBTX Challenge in Kuching on July 13 and 14, captured the bronze medal in the state-level National Robotic Competition, Miri (April 8-11), and finished 16th out of 23 teams in the Nation-level Petrosains RBTX Challenge 2019 Grand Finals, Selangor  (Aug 23-24).

It also participated in Robotic Lego Football Competition Borneo International Invitation, Miri (April 11-13).
