MIRI: One primary school in Bakong, Miri has been reportedly inundated by flood water due to rainy weather yesterday.
Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Kelabit which has 17 pupils and 9 teachers, recorded flood water as deep as three feet.
According to a statement released by the State Disaster Management Committee, the school management carried on with their daily tasks despite the classes being closed for school holidays. The headmaster, six other staff and cleaners were around yesterday.
The statement also added that its two generator sets were also operating from 8.50am to 4pm.
However, there was concern that the water level might rise due to heavy rainfalls in Bakong, Lapok area.
