Slight decrease in positive cases

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 2,712 Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday (Sept 25), which saw a slight decrease in cases as compared to 2,825 cases on the previous day.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today (Sept 25) said that out of the total cases, 1,297 cases or 47.82 percent were classified as Category 1 (no symptoms), while 1,410 cases or 51.99 percent were in Category 2 (mild symptoms).

It said that two cases or 0.07 percent were in Category 4 (lung infection and needed oxygen), while three cases or 0.11 percent were in Category 5 (lung infection and needed ventilator).

Kuching district continues to see the most cases compared to other districts at 888.

Sibu recorded 320 cases, followed by Miri (190); Samarahan (145); Sri Aman (134); Bintulu (132); Serian (97); Bau (93); Marudi (63); Sarikei (53); Belaga (53); Limbang (48); Lundu (48); Kapit (43); Betong (43); Kanowit (43); Lubok Antu (41): Simunjan (41); Asajaya (40); Pusa (35); Mukah (33); Saratok (25); Subis (17), Selangau (14); and Tanjung Manis (12).

Whereas districts that reported less than 10 cases were Daro with nine case, Bukit Mabong (eight); Tebedu (seven); Pakan (six); Lawas (five); Dalat (five); Meradong (five); Tatau (four); Beluru (three); Sebauh (three); Matu (two); Julau (two); Song (one) and Telang Usan (one).

The committee also said that as of today, there were 72 new person-under-surveillance (PUS) recorded.

SDMC said that this brings the total number of PUS undergoing quarantine at the respective quarantine hotels and quarantine centres in the state to 1,297.

A total of 154,325 PUS statewide has been discharged.
