KUCHING: Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang’s decision to leave Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and supporting the PN-GPS coalition was a smart move, said Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Youth chief Datuk Snowdan Lawan.

The Balai Ringin assemblyman believed that Jugah had made the decision with his constituents’ welfare at heart.

“If his mission and concerns are about the peoples’ welfare and pace of development in rural Lubok Antu, his move is timely and right.

“Besides, he is surrounded by close buddies and opposition parties who are eyeing the constituency.

“Before making the decision, he (Muyang) must have asked and subjected himself to the will of his supporters — the voters in Lubok Antu.

“In other words, he believed the decision came from them and for those he serves,” Snowdan said when commenting on Jugah’s decision in leaving PKR and pledging his support for PN-GPS coalition last Friday.

“He has good and valid reasons in leaving Sarawak PKR knowing too well that it is a sinking ship.

“The endless internal bickering and power struggles has led the party to the brink of collapse. His exit from PKR will reinforce the ‘Sarawak First’ tagline among our elected representatives,” he added.

He reiterated Masing’s (PRS president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing) invitation to Jugah to join the party.
