SIBU: A total of six public toilets managed by Sibu Municipal Council (SMC)’s strategic partners were inspected today.

The public toilets inspected today are located at Sibu En An Teng Tua Pek Kong Temple, Sg Antu, Taman Perpaduan, Taman Seduan, Su Kuok Garden Jalan Mantis, and Jalan Diong Kik.

According to SMC Public Health, Environment, and Municipality Services Standing Committee vice chairman Councillor Yiing Sy Huat, the inspection aimed to ensure that the toilets run by their strategic partners follow the council’s guidelines.

“Among the requirements are that the toilet floors should be dry so that they will not be slippery, the lights are functioning, toilet bowls must be clean, and more,” he said when met by reporters today.

Yiing said no action or penalty would be taken during the inspection.

“For today, we just inspect and advise them (strategic partners) on what should be done,” he added.

Also present was councillor Yii Souk Ming.
