KUCHING: SMD Semiconductor is gearing up to launch a comprehensive six-month graduate upskilling/reskilling training programme by the end of February.

Chief executive officer Shariman Jamil announced that interviews for prospective participants are already underway.

“The training programme will offer professional guidance to students and graduates, aligning with industry demands and requirements.

“Upon completion, graduates will have the opportunity to secure high-value positions in semiconductors and Integrated Circuit (IC) design, ensuring guaranteed job placements.”

Shariman made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the Train-The-Trainers programme held at the Borneo Cultures Museum here on Thursday (Feb 1).

He also touched on the four-week Train-The-Trainers programme facilitated by Synopsys, aimed at enhancing skills necessary for effective training of trainers in the semiconductor sector.

“The programme modules transcend traditional training methods, empowering participants with the latest knowledge and tools using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools from Synopsys.

“This approach ensures that future trainers can inspire and educate the next generation of IC professionals, ensuring long-term excellence.”
