SMK Lundu, SMK Sematan students receive incentives

KUCHING: Forty-five students from SMK Lundu and SMK Sematan received incentives from Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.

A short presentation ceremony was conducted at the Mahligai Gading Lundu multipurpose hall on Thursday (July 8).

“It’s hoped that the incentives will motivate the students to work harder and be an example to other students to improve their studies,” said Jamilah.

Of the 45 students, 40 sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia in 2020 while five sat for the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia.

The incentives, totalling RM10,200, were presented to SMK Lundu principal Adzuddin Mantrang and SMK Sematan principal Redzuan Taha.

At the same time, Jamilah also presented E-Khas grants to associations and non-governmental organisations amounting to RM51,000.

She also handed over uniform vouchers totalling RM49,200 from Yayasan Sarawak to 246 students.

Jamilah also emphasised on improving the local economy through the distribution of Agriculture Facilitation Funds worth RM35,000 to five recipients.

She presented aid from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tanjung Datu Youth chief Azizul Annuar Adenan in the form of food packs to the asnaf.

She also presented contributions in the form of humidifiers and hand sanitisers to SMK Lundu and SMK Sematan.

Also present were Lundu district officer Gustian Durani, Pemanca Benjamin Gersit Jais and Tanjung Datu PBB Women chief Fatimah Abdullah.
