SIBU: Teachers and Students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sacred Heart here have been told to embrace technology.

Addressing attendees at the school’s 20th Annual Speech Day 2023/2024, the school’s Board of Management vice-chairman Tan Sri Clement Hii stressed the need for students to understand the evolving skills landscape.

“Whether you become lawyers, engineers, or doctors in the near future, everyone needs to have a basic understanding of technology, such as digitalisation, big data and artificial intelligence.

“Meanwhile, for the teachers, it is vital for you to tweak your delivery to meet the changing times. There are many more innovative and creative ways to bring the message across in the classroom,” he said.

Hii also pointed out that communication, driven by honesty and sincere purpose, remains an irreplaceable power.

“We must try to communicate with honesty and a sincere purpose to enrich, and educate. This is a power that no technology can replace, although technology can amplify our delivery process,” he said.
