KUCHING: SMK Agama Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab (SHOAW) emerged as the champion of the 2022 User Interactive Challenge – School Consumer Club (CIP-KPS) Southern Zone, beating 10 other schools.

CIP-KPS is an annual programme organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

“On behalf of the ministry, we are doing our best to implement various initiatives and action plans that are appropriate to help reduce the cost of living that the public now face.

“Therefore, the CIP-KPS programme implemented by the ministry every year involves the students, which can indirectly educate future generations to be knowledgeable, smart and responsible users.

“This will not only benefit students but also serves as a platform to disseminate information and share matters relating to consumerism,” a statement said.

The explorace-themed programme took place at Samajaya Nature Reserve Park here on Wednesday (Aug 24).

The main objective of the programme is to educate, spread and increase consumer awareness among students through a new integrated approach relating to consumerism, including consumer protection, financial management, healthy eating and environmental protection.
