KUCHING: Will Julau MP Larry Sng be joining Perikatan Nasional (PN) after he has declared his support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin?

News about Sng’s resignation broke out after several party members confirmed his resignation as the Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chief.

According to reports, state PKR secretary Joshua Jabeng and Bandar Kuching PKR chief Dominique Ng have put on record about Sng calling it quits.

Based on a report from news portal MalaysiaNow, both Sng and Johor’s Tebrau MP Steven Choong have quit the party and declared their support to Muhyiddin.

In a meeting with the prime minister on Sunday (Feb 28), the duo conveyed their support for Muhyiddin.

With their resignation, both MPs are now independents.

On Dec 21 last year, Sng has confirmed that he is stepping down as Sarawak PKR chief and said that he believed it was in the best interest of the party to be led by a Dayak leader when facing the 12the state election.

However, the party’s leadership council has unanimously rejected Sng’s decision then. Following this, Sng said he would meet PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his next move.

Earlier in February, rumours were rife that Sng might be joining Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), however, Sng immediately denied it.
