KUCHING: The armed forces has collected 156 pints of blood during its blood donation programme which was held at Mydin Hypermarket, Petra Jaya on Tuesday (Nov 10).

The Malaysian Third Infantry Division Headquarters today said the programme was held in conjunction with the 61st anniversary of the Third Infantry Brigade.

The programme was aimed at helping Sarawak General Hospital increase its blood supply during the conditional movement control order (CMCO) period which was imposed on Monday (Nov 9).

Organised in collaboration with SGH Blood Fund, the aim of the programme was also to strengthen the bond between the armed forces and members of the public.

A total of 186 guests attended the event including Third Brigade commander Gen Datuk Azhar Ahmad who officiated at the ceremony.
