MUKAH: The student population at Politeknik Mukah (PMU) here has not reached its maximum capacity of 3,200.

PMU director Dullah Muluk says there are currently 2,545 students.

PMU has 164 lecturers, supported by 91 non-academic staff.

“Some vacancies have yet to be filled,” he said after officiating at Puspanita PMU’s mini branch at PMU on Saturday.

Students intake is done twice annually —in June and December.

Established in 2005, PMU is currently offering about 10 courses in engineering, commerce and information technology.

It learnt that PMU had inked several collaborations with the public and private sector in Sarawak as well as from Kalimantan, Indonesia in the last few years.

The collaboration is aimed at fostering ties and cooperation in certain areas, including training.
