KOTA SAMARAHAN: Five compounds were issued for violating standard operating procedure (SOP) during the recovery movement control order (RMCO) last Tuesday.

Samarahan police issued the compounds under Article 10, Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulations (Measures in Infected Areas).

The offences included not practising physical distancing, as well as not providing customers with information logbook.

“Practise physical distancing, and traders or business premises operators should always provide a logbook for customer information, and body temperature,” said Kota Samarahan district police chief DSP Sudirman Kram.

“Monitoring of SOP compliance will continue to be carried out during the RMCO period,” he added in a statement yesterday.

Since the MCO started on March 18, he said police had issued a total of 132 compounds so far.

“During the MCO, 61 compounds were issued, while 43 were issued during the conditional MCO, and 28 during the RMCO.

“This action is an effort to ensure that the Covid-19 infection chain is broken.”

All compounds of RM1,000 need to be paid to the Health Office within 14 days.

Meanwhile, Sudirman also revealed that in relation to the Zone 1 and 2 travel restriction that started on Aug 1, Samarahan police had approved 546 applications so far.

“Twenty-seven applications were not approved because the purpose of crossing the zones was not as stipulated in the guidelines (such as official business for civil servants, essential services, the death of family members, visiting sick families and medical purposes).”

He reminded everyone, especially residents of Kota Samarahan, to cooperate in the fight against the pandemic.

“We are strict in enforcing compliance with SOP and will not compromise. Actions (such as issuing compounds) will be taken immediately if (people are) found violating SOP.”
