KUCHING: Everyone, regardless whether they are employees, suppliers or customers, will have to put on face masks – and wear them properly – as recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

According to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) released by National Security Council (NSC) last night (May 31), it is mandatory for employers to make sure that their workers register their attendance by checking in via the MySejahtera mobile application or manually writing down their names, telephone numbers, date and time of entry on the logbook if the area does not have any Internet coverage.

Symptomatic employees are not allowed to go to work and are required to undergo Covid-19 tests immediately at nearby health clinics.

On the other hand, employees identified as person-under-surveillance (PUS) are not allowed to go to work until they have undergone Covid-19 tests, the mandatory quarantine period and after obtaining the release order (RO) from the health department.

Employees who are performing essential services and carrying essential goods must take the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) test for Covid-19 once every two weeks.

However, under the same sector for Bintulu, Tatau and Sebauh districts, they must take the rT-PCR test once in every seven days.

In addition, those who show signs of Covid-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, flu and diarrhoea will also need to go for swab tests.

NSC said these people should wear face masks and observe physical distance when inside vehicles.

The SOPs also warned employees against eating in groups when physical distance is difficult to observe during breaktime at their workplace.
