KUCHING:Sarawak Teachers’ Union (STU) president Macky Joseph has urged all students to spare time during their school holidays to study in preparation for next year’s school calendar.
He noted that tomorrow (Dec 18) is the final day of the school term this year, with school holidays starting on Saturday (Dec 19).
“As the new norm continues due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it would be great to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) wherever you are.
“Discipline is mandatory while complying with the SOP in fighting Covid-19,” he said in a statement today.
He said Sarawak is still battling Covid-19 but the situation would not be an obstacle for all to communicate during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“Communication can be done via various media platforms which include social networking, microblogging, photo-sharing, video-sharing, and so on,” he said.
Macky urged those celebrating to be compliant and disciplined in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“STU wishes a healthy yet safe Christmas Day and New Year celebration while taking note of the SOP implemented by the Health Ministry,” he said.
