Special day for 98 young graduates

KUCHING: Yesterday was a special day for 98 SeDidik Mutiara Kuching Zone students.

They attended their convocation ceremony at Hotel Grand Dormani Rajah Court, Pending.

The event was officiated by Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Children Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

The pupils came from 17 SeDidik Mutiara Tadika Centres Kuching Zone: Taman Sri Jaya, Sri Aman; Santubong; Bandar Baru Samariang; Taman Fitrah; Matang; Kampung Melayu; Moyan Laut; Semera; Batu Gong; Merembeh; Lundu; Sageng; Sampat; Buntal; Muara Tuang; Sira; and Gedong.

“SeDidik teachers should not fret because these pupils are surely ready to enter primary school with all the fundamentals that they have learned,” said Fatimah.

Apart from the presentation of certificates to the pupils, there was also the presentation of Exemplary Child and Parent Awards.

The pupils also performed ethnic dances, choral speaking and rhythmic gymnastics.

This year, SeDidik operates in 83 centres across Sarawak; 65 are located in rural and suburban areas and 17 in the urban areas.
