SEBUYAU: Sebuyau assemblyman Datuk Julaihi Narawi urged the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) to expedite the construction of a new building for SMK Sebuyau.

In his Facebook post on Sunday (Jan 9), he said the allocation for the project was approved during the 11th Malaysia Plan.

But construction work has not started even though it is now the 12th Malaysia Plan.

“The construction needs to be expedited because the current building of SMK Sebuyau is not safe to use.

“It is not conducive for teaching and learning. I urge the MOE to act immediately,” he said

during an appreciation ceremony for Haseli Baseri who taught at SK Segali and  retired recently.

In the meantime, the assemblyman also approved a grant amounting to RM10,000 for SK Segali Parent-Teacher Association ( PTA ) as well as a Rural Transformation programme (RTP) allocation of RM100,000 to upgrade some facilities in the school. The upgrading work will be implemented by the Public Works Department (PWD).
