S’pore scientists invited to explore biodiversity sector

KUCHING: Singapore scientists and researchers should collaborate with Sarawak in the biodiversity sector as the state is blessed with natural resources, said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“Although we are lacking of scientists, Singapore, however, has the advantage pertaining to biodiversity.

“I suggest Singapore scientists and researchers come to Sarawak and set up their research with the Sarawak Biodiversity Council. Once they come up with findings, we can utilise it,” he said at the Sarawak Business Federation anniversary dinner and gala night here.

Also present were Singapore Senior Minister of State Chee Hong Tat and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

At the anniversary dinner cum The Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Awards 2019 (CMIEA), Press Metal Sdn Bhd emerged the overall winner among 22 companies which participated in various categories. − Bernama
