DEBAK: Areas in the Betong Division that do not have sports complexes will be included in the priority list under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA).

Community and Well-being Development Deputy Minister Mohammad Razi Sitam said several issues related to sports and recreational facilities have been identified by the BDDA Social Development Committee for implementation.

He told reporters this after the Saribas constituency-level Hari Raya Aidilfitri event at the Riveria Sports Centre here Sunday (May 7), which was officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

Razi added that outdated stadiums and sports complexes will be included in the list for upgrading, such as the one in Saratok, where the stadium (or sports complex) near Jalan Roban Lama is still lacking in facilities.

“And in Debak, the sports complex does not have a pavilion, so we will include it in the second phase of sports complex development.

“We are also proposing to create recreational areas, including the construction of river embankments in every town, such as Debak and Saratok, and tourism facilities such as at the Tanjung Kembang Kabong Beach,” he added.
